Manuel Quaresima

Manuel Quaresima is a self-taught Italian sculptor who works primarily with iron, steel, and reclaimed materials. After a long professional career in the metalworking industry, he chose to devote himself fully to artistic research, transforming his technical knowledge of materials into a personal expressive language.

His works predominantly depict human figures in a constant state of transformation, characterized by fragmented surfaces, openings, dynamic tensions, and mechanical elements integrated into their structure. Through metal, Quaresima explores universal themes such as suffering, rebirth, change, and the relationship between matter and the inner dimension of human experience.

His work is rooted in the belief that every experience, even the most difficult, can become a means of growth. The figures he creates seem to emerge from matter or dissolve into it, embodying the continuous process of evolution that accompanies human existence. Today, he continues his research through sculptures that combine material strength, emotional tension, and reflection on the human condition.
