Echo

An echo is the trace of something that continues to exist even after it has faded. It is not presence, but not absence either: it is a memory that returns, transformed.

In Echo, the body appears suspended between construction and dissolution. One part of the figure still retains a recognizable form, while the other shatters into filaments that disperse into space, as if matter can no longer contain what passes through it. The face itself is incomplete, deprived of a stable definition, allowing the idea of an identity in continuous flux to emerge.

The work reflects on how experiences, people, and past versions of ourselves continue to resonate within us. Nothing truly disappears: every transformation leaves a trace, every passage generates an echo that contributes to shaping who we are in the present.

Echo represents that subtle boundary between what remains and what disperses, between memory and transformation. A fragile but persistent presence, suspended in the instant when the past still makes itself felt.
