Prometheus – Handmade Steel Mythology Sculpture
In Greek mythology, Prometheus defied the gods to give fire to humankind. For this act, he was condemned to eternal suffering. His story symbolizes the sacrifice necessary to achieve knowledge, freedom, and progress.
In this sculpture, the body still bears the marks of constraint: fragments of broken chains hang from its arms, evidence of a bond that no longer has the power to hold it back. The figure stands in precarious balance, consumed by the struggle yet still upright, with arms open in a gesture that is not surrender, but affirmation.
The material appears corroded, fragmented, traversed by emptiness. Yet it is precisely from these wounds that its strength emerges. Prometheus does not depict suffering as defeat, but as the price of transformation. It is the image of one who accepts the weight of their choices and continues to rise despite the scars they bear.
A figure suspended between sacrifice and liberation, where the fragility of matter becomes a testament to the resilience of the spirit.
